Taupo Motorsport Park has been developed as New Zealand’s premier motorsport venue. As an international qualifying race circuit and drag strip it has played host to top world motorsport events including A1GP, ISDE and USA vs NZ Drag Meetings. As a venue for conferences, corporate functions, driver training, race experience and a specialist motor industry business centre, Taupo Motorsport Park brings a Total Driving Experience to New Zealand.
Key to the success of the facility is the combination of high profile events that attract the international media and the ever growing popularity to experience the thrill of driving a race car on an international race circuit. Based on-site are several companies that specialize in the race experience and cater professionally to the corporate market.
The venue is enhanced by brand new purpose built corporate facilities, designed specifically for the needs of event promoters and conference organizers to cater at a professional level to their corporate guests.
Corporate facilities include one large function room with six smaller interconnecting corporate suites suitable for up to 50 people per room. Corporate venue capacity ranges from 20 through to more than 600 depending on configuration. All corporate suites and function rooms have uninterrupted views of the pit lane and race track with Mt Tauhara as the backdrop.
Additional rooms are available in the race control complex situated on the top level of the corporate facilities. These rooms range from two small office rooms, one large boardroom and three ‘race control’ suites over looking the venue. The race control complex features a small kitchenette and elevator access.
Complementing the corporate suites and function rooms are a commercial kitchen, shower rooms, secretary office and 32 ground floor garages with front and rear access.
Key to the success of the facility is of course the racing circuits and associated infrastructure. There are three different race track configurations based around the use of two separate circuits. The two circuits consist of 2.2km and 1.3km circuits and when combined form the 3.5km international circuit. In addition is a ¼ mile drag strip, 8,500 grandstand seats, 20,000 sqm sealed hardstand area and ample grassed paddock areas for car parking or exhibition displays.
Taupo Motorsport Park also manages a commercial business park located at the main entrance to the venue. Operating from the business park are private businesses associated with the motor industry. These range from vehicle performance enhancement businesses, race preparation workshops through to driver training and race experience businesses.
The facility operates all year round and can be hired out for small events and functions through to major events and expo’s catering for up to 30,000 people.
