Kayaking

paddle and drift

The Taupo area has amazing rivers and streams for recreational kayaking. Choose from the Tongariro or Waikato Rivers or the famous trout laden Tokanuu Stream. Lazy rapids, volcanic gorges, sandy beaches and native forests make a fun filled spectacular adventure for the outdoor adventurer. Camp over night and really get the outdoor experience in the forest listening to the night haunting calls of the Morepork.

Paddle Lake Taupo and around Rangitira Point to the 10 metre high rock carvings only accessible by boat. Hear about the history, how they were carved and their cultural significance. This is a geological and historical tour for the inquisitive visitor.  For the explorer wanting more adventure, camp overnight in a sandy bay surrounded by native bush. Tenting is not the only option so stay in remote cabins, cottages or a luxury lodge.

All prices subject to change. Seasonal rates may apply.
