 New Zealand Seasons

A rough guide, showing the seasons.

  • Summer - December, January, February. Days are quite warm with temperatures averaging between early to mid twenties, making it quite pleasant. Evenings are cooler due to our altitude level.
  • Autumn - March, April, May. Days start to get cooler with temperatures dropping. Averages for these months tend to sit more around the late teens.
  • Winter - June, July, August. At this time of the year, we start to get visits from Jack Frost. Temperatures are now at their lowest for the year and mountains start to get covered with snow.
  • Spring - September, October, November. With cool temperatures, the mountains are still quite likely to get fresh snow on them, however nearing the end of spring, days begin to warm up.
