Kinloch
in Whangamata Bay
Only 20 minutes north west of Taupo is the idyllic rural lakeside village of Kinloch, a popular holiday destination and commuter spot for Taupo town. This subdivision was developed by the Holyoake and Gibb families in the 1950's and has been a fast growing village of holiday homes and subdivisions since. Kinloch has become the gateway to the western bays and is situated on the northern shores of Lake Taupo.
The village has a large marina, local cafe, restaurant, store and the Jack Nicklaus signature golf course. The Kinloch village and marina have magnificent views toward the snow capped volcanic mountains of the central plateau and the Kaimanawa ranges. This tranquil peaceful village with its white pumice beaches, waterfalls, and native bush to the waters edge is well worth the visit.
