4 Wheel Motorbikes - Get down and dirty in the mud. Great fun in the rain with wet weather clothing provided. Inquire at the Taupo or Turangi i-SITE Visitor Centres.

AC Baths - Thermally heated public swimming pools. Indoor and outdoors leisure pool, two hydroslides, private spas, two 25 metre pools, great family fun. Adults $6.50, Children (5 to 15 years)$2.50, Seniors $4. Children under 5 free. Taupo Events Centre, cnr Spa Road and AC Baths Avenue. Open from 6am-9pm daily. Last entry 8.30pm.

Arts and Crafts Trail - Several studios and galleries are open for viewing. Inquire at the Taupo or Turangi i-SITE Visitor Centres.

Ceramic Painting - A vibrant, inspiring studio-cafe where you can paint your own ceramics. You choose a piece of pottery, unleash your imagination, and create your own masterpiece. Anyone can do it. Tues-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 10am-4pm. Closed Mondays except School and Public Holidays. Prices start from $10-$50. Prices all inclusive. Located at 13 Marama Arcade, Lake Taupo.

Cruises - Cruise Cat, Ernest Kemp, Alice the Lady of the Lake and Barbary all offer daily covered cruises on Lake Taupo to the Maori Rock Carvings. Huka Falls River Boat offers cruises on the Waikato River to the Huka Falls. Inquire at the Taupo or Turangi i-SITE Visitor Centres.

Double Decker Bus Tours - 20 minutes town tours. Operates in School hoildays only during winter months. Regular summer tours. Check with the Turangi or Taupo i-SITE Visitor Centre for tour times. Adults $8, Child $4 (5-15 years), $1 (2-4 years), Family (2 Adults, @ Children) $20. Meet at Superloo or Lakefront, Lake Taupo.

Haka Trails - Opition 1: Visit a Marae and receive an introduction to aspects of the Marae and their signifigance within Maori Culture. $60 per person. Opition 2: An introduction to Raeanga Harakeke (flax weaving). Learn how to create putiputi (flowers) or weave a kete (bag) to take home. $60 per person. Inquire at Taupo or Turangi i-SITE Visitor Centre.

Honey Hive - Watch bees in their glass viewing hives and see a fascinating video, sample a myriad of honey products and see a wide range of souvenirs at the 'Bees Knees' Cafe. Open daily 9am-5pm Free admission. Situated off SH1 north in Wairakei Tourist Park, Lake Taupo.

Indoor Climbing Wall - Taupo Events Centre, 432 sq metres of climbing area with 30 different climbing routes. Open 5pm-9pm Monday to Friday, 12 midday-9pm Saturday and Sunday. Gear hire and instruction cost; Adults $14, Children $12. Fitness centre also available. Situated at the Taupo Events Centre, AC Baths Avenue, Lake Taupo.

Laser Tag - Indoor fun for individuals or groups. $9.50 per person. Located at Taupo Adventure Park on SH5 north towards Rotorua, 10 minutes from Lake Taupo.

Lava Glass Studio - Watch hand-manipulated art glass being formed at temperatures of 1,000°c. Browse in the adjoining gallery of unique New Zealand mad artworks which include a wide range of collectible art glass pieces. Open 7 days, 10am-5pm. SH5 Taupo-Rotorua Road, Lake Taupo.

Museum of Art and History - Changing exhibitons and displays. Make the museum an interesting stopping point. Open daily 10.30am-4.30pm, closed Good Friday and Christmas Day. Situated in Story Place, Lake Taupo. Adults $4, Children free.

NZ Fruit Wines - The largest selection of fruit wines and fruit liqueurs in NZ. Free daily tastings. Located in the Honey Hive Building. Huka Falls Loop Road, Wairakei Tourist Park, Lake Taupo.

NZ Woodcraft - Watch NZ native timbers being turned into a wide range or products. Open daily from 9am-5pm. Free Admission. Situated off SH1 North in Wairakei Tourist Park, Lake Taupo.

Starlight Cinema - Five theatres in this complex. Check newspapers or phone 378-7515 for movie programme. Located in Starlight Arcade, between Horomatangi and Tamamutu Streets, Lake Taupo.

Taupo Bungy - Join thousands of jumpers from around the world who have taken the plunge with Taupo Bungy. Their unique cantilever bungy platform that sits 47 metres above the Waikato River is designed to hold you and 99 others. Located on Spa Road, Lake Taupo.

Tokaanu Thermal Pools - Thermally heated outdoor pool plus private pools. Open 10am to 9pm. Adult $5, Children $2.50. Private pools Adult $7, Children $3. Mangaroa St, Tokaanu. 

Tongariro National Trout Centre - View wild Taupo trout in the Waihukahuka Stream through the underwater window, or feed trout in the children's pond. Lots of displays to see includings the hatchery and visitor centre. Lovely bush setting, BBQ and picnic facilities. Open daily 10am-3pm. SH1 just south of Turangi.

Trout Fishing - Warm, covered boats available to catch a trout or two. Inquire at the Taupo or Turangi i-SITE Visitor Centres.

Vertical Assault - Cafe and Climbing Wall with 26 routes, 14 metre vertical climb, 20 metre lead climb. Open 10am-6pm daily. Adult $15, Children $11, (includes harness). Ngawaka Place, Turangi.

Volcanic Activity Centre - Audio visuals and interactive displays about the Taupo volcanic zone. Earthquake simulator and more. Open daily 9am-5pm week days, 10am-4pm weekends and public holidays. Adult $9.50, Children $5. Family $24 (2 adults and 4 children under 16 years). Students (with ID) and Seniors $5. Situated in Wairakei Tourist Park, Lake Taupo, off SH1 north.

Wai Maori Adventures - Our warm and comfortable river apparel makes Wai Maori Adventures suitable for all seasons.
