Lions Walk

on the lake edge

The grand and dramatic name, the 'Lions Walk", captures the essence of this magnificent walk. The walkway was formed on the lake reserve by the Taupo Lions Club and is an easy, level walk on a pathway that borders the lake edge.  The Lions Walk begins at Two Mile Bay Boat Ramp and follows the lakeshore south.  Kowhai trees have been planted along the way to provide shelter for local wildlife.  Ducks and swans can usually be seen on the lakeshore, and shags are common.

This peaceful and beautiful walk along the shore is restful and relaxing. With stunning scenery, lapping lake water on the pebble beaches, this is a therapeutic and healthy walk for any age group.
