Visit the 100% Pure New Zealand Ora – Garden of Wellbeing, located in the Taupo Museum Courtyard. The garden won gold at the Chelsea Flower Show in London and was based around a Maori legend about mythical guardians of the land. It features carvings, steamy vapours, a cavern (ruamoko), silica terraces (puna), hot pools (ngawha) and an extraordinary variety of native plants. This garden encompasses the sense of completeness and well-being that comes from the fusion of self, spirit and nature.

Created in the Weta Workshop in Wellington, Ora's remarkable replica silica terraces and lush ferns and and cabbage trees, together with hundreds of other plants creates the feel of this unique New Zealand thermal area.

Water flows down the silica terraces and thermal pools, and the sound of bird song floats through the garden.
