We'd both done long hours at work recently and decided to give the kids a surprise to thank them for peeling the spuds and folding the washing. On Friday we picked them up from school and headed straight out of town. Jack loved fishing for prawns at Huka Prawn Park and Milly adored her "girl's day out" at the shops with me. I got up early to watch the start of the New Zealand Ironman. Those athletes are crazy! When the first competitor ran down the finish chute over eight hours later, the noise of the crowd sent a tingle down my spine. Maybe it's not such a crazy idea after all. Graham, 41
